Week 10 – Colorado School of Mines Series

This was one of our biggest bounce-back weekends of the season. After a tough stretch earlier, we came home and played really clean baseball against Colorado School of Mines, sweeping all four games.
Game 1 – UCCS 19, Mines 4
This was an explosive start to the series. Offensively, everything was clicking early and often, and as a pitcher, it made things a lot easier knowing we had that kind of cushion. You can attack hitters more freely when your team jumps out like that, and we did exactly that.
Game 2 – UCCS 15, Mines 8
This game was more of a back-and-forth feel, but we stayed in control. Even when they tried to answer, we kept putting pressure on them offensively. From the mound, it wasn’t perfect, but we competed and found ways to limit damage when it mattered.
Game 3 – UCCS 17, Mines 16
This was the wildest game of the weekend. As a pitcher, it was one of those games where you just have to stay locked in every pitch because momentum is constantly swinging. It felt like whoever made the last mistake might lose—but we kept responding and found a way to win another tight one.
Game 4 – UCCS 8, Mines 4
We finished the sweep the right way. This game felt more controlled and clean compared to the chaos earlier in the series. We threw strikes, played solid defense, and closed out the weekend without letting up.
Pitcher Perspective
This series showed a lot about who we are as a team:
We can explode offensively (19–4, 15–8)
We can win close, high-pressure games (17–16)
And we can finish strong and stay consistent (8–4)
As a pitcher, the biggest takeaway for me is confidence. When we execute and stay composed, we’re really hard to beat in any type of game.
This was the exact response we needed after last weekend, and it felt like we got back to playing our brand of baseball.
