This past weekend, we were back at Mountain Lion Park facing MSU Denver, and it was definitely one of the tougher series we’ve had.
We went 1–3 on the weekend:
Game 1: Loss 12–19
Game 2: Loss 2–8
Game 3: Win 12–6
Game 4: Loss 6–29 (7 innings)
Game 1 – 12–19 Loss (Back-and-Forth Early)
This one started off as a battle. We were putting up runs, they were answering, and it felt like it could go either way early on.
But as the game went on, they started to separate. As a pitcher, games like this are tough because it feels like every mistake turns into runs. We competed, but couldn’t slow them down enough late.
Game 2 – 2–8 Loss (Offense Stalled)
This game was more controlled, but we just couldn’t get anything going offensively.
From the mound, it felt like we had to be perfect because runs were hard to come by. We had some good moments, but against a team like that, you can’t give them extra opportunities.
Game 3 – 12–6 Win (Response Game)
This was our best game of the weekend.
We came out with energy, put up runs early, and didn’t let up. As a pitcher, this is the kind of game you want to be in—play with a lead, attack hitters, and trust everything behind you.
This showed what we’re capable of when we play our game.
Game 4 – 6–29 Loss (Tough Finish)
This one was tough, no way around it.
They jumped on us early and never let off. As a pitcher, these are the hardest games—you’re trying to stop momentum, but it just keeps building.
It’s one you have to flush quickly and move on from.
